Just Tryna Change The World

I dont know how many people will see this, or if anyone will pay attention to it at all, so I’m gonna keep it short.

My name is Layo, I’m a hip hop artist/singer from Canada (In Montreal, right now). I started writing lyrics to vent when life was pretty messed up for me in high school. I started recording when I listened to mainstream hiphop and knew I could do better and change the game for better. A lot of artists flaunt their money, their sex lives, their expensive lifestyles, which works for them apparently. But not everyone has those things. I feel I need to reach out to the people who don’t have a lot of things, whether it’s money, happiness, friends or family. Most importantly, I want to inspire and speak on behalf of the people chasing their dreams, like me. I’ll rap and sing about things that are being said in the game just to be relevant, but I also want people to see that I’m in it for the fame and the money because I feel like I need to change the world. I don’t need more than 1 car, I don’t need to party every weekend, I don’t need a house I’ll get lost in. What I do need, is for people to see that people who have power like the artists in the industry need to do more for the world. I want to be like Tupac, and I know a lot of people say that, but they don’t mean it how I mean it. I mean, I need to change the world. People spend money bedazzling their Benz’s and they build man made islands in the middle east when there are millions of people not too far away that need a few dollars to live the rest of the week. That needs to end, or someone needs to lead the movement and I feel if no one else will do it, I will. I have so many written raps about dreams, motivation, love, life, values that everyone will relate to, but right now I’m making more mainstream music so I can do what I love on stage and perform it. Once I get things rolling, I’ll push out more music, some for the women because I love women, everything about them, some deep tracks because I see things differently than most, some dream tracks because we aren’t living life if we aren’t pursuing one, and up beat, club hits because we all need to have a bit of fun.
